The incident took place around 3:25 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, when Dwayne Keel, of Bridgeport, entered the medical office located in the 12- block of High Ridge Road, Stamford Police Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said.
Keel was arrested after police were called to office during the attack. Once on the scene, the woman said that Keel, her boyfriend for 20 years, went into the employee-only area of the office and chased her to the rear door, Shawinsky said.
He then grabbed her by her hair and dragged her down the hall and stole her cellphone while she was attempting to call 911, he added.
The violent struggle took place in front of three children and parents in the waiting room.
Keel then fled the building, but police were able to locate him and put him under arrest.
He was charged three counts of risk of injury to a child, larceny, assault, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and interfering with police.
He was held on a $2,500 bond.
